Science for Society, Jharkhand is working since 2001 to popularize science and inculcate scientific temperament among people. Taking forward the people’s science campaign, Science for Society Jharkhand has continued with its year-round activities. Regular activities have helped the organisation expand its area of influence over the years. Science for Society Jharkhand has also been recognised at the national level and it is a member of the Network of Science and Technology Communications, All-India People’s Science Network and Federation of Indian Rationalist Association.

Science for Society, Jharkhand is a voluntary organization of scientists,technologists, scientific workers and social scientists. Science for Society Jharkhand was formed in 2001 after formation of Jharkhand. Before 2001, the group was active with Science for Society Biharsince 1980.The goal of Science for Society Jharkhand is to popularize science through lecture series, publication of books and journals, and several other activities. We strive to propagate scientific temperament among the masses and work towards spreading awareness for proper utilization of scientific and technological know-how for the development of the society.
